Education and Literacy Program
Disaster-Safe Education Unit (SPAB)
The KINANTA Foundation is committed to establishing Disaster-Safe Education Units (SPAB) as a vital component of protecting Indonesia's young generation. Through advocacy, training, and direct support in disaster-prone schools, KINANTA ensures that every child, including those with disabilities, can learn safely and securely. The inclusive and participatory approach implemented not only strengthens the capacity of teachers and students but also fosters a culture of risk awareness from an early age. In this way, KINANTA contributes to creating schools that are safe, resilient, and disaster-ready.
Resilience Literacy
The KINANTA Foundation places disaster and climate change literacy as a crucial foundation for building resilience in Indonesian society. Literacy is not just about knowledge, but also empowerment, enabling communities to understand risks, make informed decisions, and adapt inclusively. To this end, KINANTA has initiated literacy movements such as the Resilient Archipelago Literacy Movement (GELIAT) and the NGABUBURIT Bencana program, which provide a collective, simple, and down-to-earth learning space for all levels of society.
Sphere Training
The KINANTA Foundation's Sphere Training is designed to strengthen the capacity of volunteers and stakeholders to implement minimum standards for a just, inclusive, and accountable humanitarian response. The training equips participants with knowledge of survivors' rights, humanitarian service standards, and best practices in emergency response. Uniquely, KINANTA provides an inclusive training process, involving organizations for persons with disabilities (OPDis) and the support of sign language interpreters, ensuring equal participation for everyone.

Achievements of the SPAB Program in Building School Resilience

Through multi-stakeholder collaboration, the program has increased the preparedness capacity of thousands of students and teachers, creating a sustainable protection system in educational settings.
